Marketing Expert to Discuss Simple, Effective Advertising Strategies at June 24 GABB Meeting
ATLANTA, GA. – Rutland Walker, a Cox Media Group Project Manager, will discuss how businesses can be effective in our complicated, highly fractionalized media world with members of the Georgia Association of Business Brokers on Tuesday, June 24. The GABB is the state’s largest professional organization dedicated to buying and selling businesses and franchises. David Aynes of Atlanta Leasing & Investment is sponsoring the June meeting.
“Everywhere you turn there’s advertising,” says Walker, who is an adjunct professor at The Academy of Marketing in Atlanta. “We are bombarded with ads on Facebook, Google, TV, Radio, Billboards, Magazines, bus wraps, yard signs, etc. To most of us, it is an annoyance, an inconvenience that we know we have to deal with because it pays for some of the things we like. “
Join Walker and the GABB as he demystifies advertising in 2014, and gives a few simple takeaways that will increase the effectiveness of advertising no matter what you do.
Mr. Walker is a veteran media marketing executive with 23 years of experience in major sports sponsorships, radio, TV, content marketing, search engine marketing, newsprint, and retail promotions. He has worked with some of most iconic properties in the southeast: The Atlanta Braves network, The Southeastern Conference, ISP Sports, IMG College, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, News/Talk WSB, WSB TV, AJC.
He has also written, produced, and directed (and sometimes voiced) campaigns for national advertisers Farmers Insurance, Charter Communications, Rinnai USA, Lawyers.com, Plumber911, as well as local campaigns for Arrow Exterminators, Ackerman Security Systems, Delta Plumbing, Tara Fine Jewelry, Flash Electric, Panda Painting, and others. He has also consulted with major brands like Verizon Wireless, AirTran Airways, Georgia Power, Comcast, Sherwin-Williams, AT&T, SERVPRO, Quaker State, CITGO, Publix, Corona, and LexisNexis.
GABB members represent owners of Georgia businesses and help them estimate the value of their businesses, create marketing plans and strategies for the sale of their businesses, and identify and qualify potential business buyers while keeping the sale confidential from employees and customers. Many of today’s business buyers are individuals who have decided not to re-enter corporate America , but are ready to control their own destiny by purchasing and operating a Georgia business. Many business buyers are also current business owners who saw 2013 as an opportunity to grow their revenues through purchases of competitors or strategic partners.
The GABB’s monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the South Terraces Conference Center is preceded at 9:45 a.m. by a free light breakfast and networking session. The GABB is the state’s largest professional organization dedicated to buying and selling businesses and franchises.
The South Terraces Conference Center is at 115 Perimeter Center Place, Atlanta. For more information about the GABB, contact GABB President C. David Chambless at dchambless@abraxas.biz or 404-627-4454.
